Yesterday, police in St. Paul arrested several journalists, including Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman and an AP photographer as they were covering protests of the Republican National Convention.
Amy Goodman and others were released last night, but the story is not over.
We need you to cosign our public letter demanding that press intimidation cease immediately, and that all charges be dropped. It will be delivered immediately to St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman, the RNC Host Committee and the local prosecuting attorneys. We need 10,000 signatures in the next 24 hours, so please take action now:
In addition to these arrests, police with firearms drawn raided a meeting of the video journalists' group I-Witness and arrested independent media, bloggers and videomakers. We’re also receiving late-breaking reports of other arrests.
By signing this letter, you’re sending a powerful message: Officials must rein in aggressive and violent tactics by local law enforcement, stop the targeting of journalists and immediately drop all charges against them.
. There is no argument that is the least bit logical to support not impeaching.
If you have read even a small portion of those Articles of Impeachment (and those do not list nearly all the reasons to impeach), you will see the extreme danger we are in. Let us not forget that precedence is being set and the next President could do much worse and then the next could get even worse.
We have laws. We have to keep our employees (the President is our employee NOT our ruler, king or emperor) from breaking the law, damaging our Constitution or breaking international treaties, all of which Bush and several others in our government have and are doing.
The argument that with Bush impeached, we will end up with Cheney in office means nothing. First, we already also have articles of impeachment that have been introduced against Cheney, and second, the congress and our military would be much less apt to follow illegal orders from Cheney to attack Iran if we are in the middle of impeaching Bush.
As for the time it will take to impeach Bush....it could take one day, we have enough evidence on video tape of...
The official and one of the largest sellers of vacations to the Bahamas, www.bahamas.com crys Sovereign Immunity in a Florida Courtroom yesterday!
Bahamas.com is a travel sales agency of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, ran by their Ministry of Tourism. The Bahamian government let it thousands upon thousands of foreign workers without doing immigration procedures on them, without issueing work permits, and is housing them inside hotels with tourists, unregistered. Construction will go on for ten years all over the Bahamas and still at this same place.
Confronted in a courtroom by crime victims that purchased a vacation package from them and soon after were hurt, they cry Immunity to the Judge this week! An American woman was drugged, raped all night, knife held to her throat inside the hotel that Bahamas.com sold them the package to by some of these same construction workers. The Ministry of Tourism will not take responsibility for their improper sales to customers. These same crime victims were told by police in the Bahamas and many other officials that they had done this and therefore they could not find the men, even though they were still living at the hotel...

Articles of Impeachment
Dear Friend:
Under circumstances that can best be described as "suspicious," the www.kucinich.us website was crippled early this morning a few hours after Congressman Dennis Kucinich introduced 35 extensively documented Articles of Impeachment against President George W. Bush.
If you would like to show your support for the Congressman's efforts, please go to myinfo.kucinich.us to offer your comments and provide us with contact information so that we can continue to keep you informed.
Thank you Committee to Re-Elect Congressman Kucinich

Here are some things you can do...
CALL CONYERS and PELOSI TO DEMAND IMPEACHMENT...
Here are the numbers for them both, remind them of their DUTY to put impeachment into action and remind him impeachment is NOT too late as it is never too late to uphold the law...
TAKE ACTION It is gravely unethical and ecologically devastating to expand production of biofuels by allowing land to be stolen from local Afro-Colombian communities; and at the expense of Colombia's ancient primary rainforests, food security, water resources and regional climate
Plantation expansion for agrofuels remains a major threat to the lives, livelihoods and the environment of Afro-Colombian and other peasant communities in Chocó, Colombia. This is one of the world's most biodiverse regions, with large areas of rainforest now facing destruction. The Chocó rainforests are home to 7,000 to 8,000 species, including 2,000 endemic plant species and 100 endemic bird species. Even before the current palm oil and agrofuel expansion, 66% had been destroyed. Communities and rainforests are under threat from palm oil and sugar cane expansion for agrofuels in other parts of Colombia, too, for example around Tumaco, near the border with Ecuador, in Santander and in Magdalena. If agrofuels -- growing food for fuel -- continue to expand in Colombia, food prices are bound to rise and the nation's food security erode as is happening around the world. Please...
We're seeing the first cracks in the White House's scheme to spread pro-war propaganda via corporate media. One more push will break this scandal wide open.
Late last month, the New York Timesexposed a shady Pentagon program to embed up to 75 "propaganda pundits" on every major news network. These so-called experts went on the air to cover up bad news about Iraq with White House spin.
Sen. George Voinovich sits on an influential committee that could hold hearings and investigate whether this “selling of the war” violates federal law. It is crucial that your elected officials hear from you now.
Since the story broke in the Times, nearly 30,000 Free Press activists have sent letters to Congress. Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.), Carl Levin (D-Mich.), and Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) have already responded, calling for a full investigation. In the House, Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) has gathered more than 40 other representatives to demand answers from the Pentagon.
By sending a letter to your elected officials, you're helping end years of media distortion...

Vital Public Meeting Tuesday 3/18 in Piketon
Dear Friends of SONG,
Last March, more than 300 of you responded to our appeal to turn out for a crucial public hearing held by the U.S. Department of Energy to protest a plan to turn Piketon into a massive storage dump for high-level nuclear waste.
We need your attendance again at a vital public meeting this Tuesday, March 18, at Piketon, at the same location. (Details below.)
Because of YOUR turnout last year and other activism, the GNEP plan was stalled. Congress radically cut GNEP funding, DOE has indefinitely delayed any siting decisions, and the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement due last summer is still not issued. Once a new administration takes office, GNEP likely will be dead. Thank you for helping us show that ordinary citizens do still have some power in America!
However, the demise of GNEP creates other problems at Piketon. Because DOE had planned to pack the old process buildings with spent fuel, they did not plan for cleanup of the site, and did not charter a Citizens Advisory...
House Democrats Hold Bush Officials in Criminal Contempt
February 15, 2008
Today, thanks in great part to your advocacy and persistence, the House of Representatives took a major, tangible step towards holding the Bush Administration accountable.
